A coming-of-age story in an age of chaos.
Flyers Game is set in 1974, on a Jersey Shore that no longer exists. In a world where kids disdain adults, where women and gays fight to gain their rights, and Watergate upends the political order, small-town cop Chuck Cochrane tries to keep his family and his community safe, and it feels like he’s losing the battle. His son Joey just wants to play baseball and see his first big-league game, while his friends have moved on to hockey, and girls. When a friend of his sister’s comes to spend the summer with the family, things change in Joey’s world, and in his father’s.
With a script by Bruce Novotny and Valerie Alexander, Flyers Game could go into production as early as August of 2026 with proper funding. It will tell a powerful, universal story while evoking a world gone by — a world loved and remembered by millions whose lives have taken them there.
