Who We Are
We are a team of entertainment professionals with decades of experience, storytellers with a well-honed sense of what audiences want.
In 2023, we imagined a short film that could capture a long-ago world of Long Beach Island, NJ and the waters surrounding it, and that summer we shot the film.
Six Miles at Sea was ambitious and challenging but it worked, and it demonstrates that the world of Flyers Game can appeal to audiences, and that we’re the team to make it happen.

Bruce Novotny
Producer, Co-Director
Bruce Novotny is a writer and film editor who has been telling stories about the Jersey Shore since his debut novel Tales From an Endless Summer. In the edit bay he’s cut feature films and TV for over a quarter century. Writing and directing Six Miles at Sea served as great preparation for taking on Flyers Game.
Valerie Alexander
Co-Writer, Co-Director
Accomplished writer and director Valerie Alexander brings a wealth of industry experience and connections to the team. She and Bruce have worked together on several projects and they form a dynamic and effective partnership, one whose whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
Sven Shelgren
Producer
Sven Shelgren has built an admirable career as a producer in all aspects of the industry, from commercials and industrials for high-level clients, to acclaimed feature films. HIs work as festival director for the world-renowned Ojai Film Festival gives him a unique insight into the world of independent film and what it takes to achieve success in that world.
